Lions Dental Clinic

1. Introduction - The Lions Dental Clinic (LDC) is a proposed permanent project initiated by the District Lions Clubs and duly supported by PDG Deepak Shah Ji. The objective of this project is to address the alarming spread of dental diseases in our community, particularly among needy and underprivileged individuals. The LDC will be operated under a club and district partnership model, overseen by Lions 3234 D2 Charitable Trust, with a committee of five Lions members from the sponsor club appointed to manage the clinic's operations. The primary focus of the LDC will be to provide dental services at highly concessional and affordable prices to individuals in slum areas and underprivileged communities.

2. Objectives - The key objectives of the Lions Dental Clinic are as follows:

a) Promoting Oral Health: To promote oral health awareness and provide essential dental services to underprivileged individuals, helping them achieve better dental hygiene and overall well-being.

b) Addressing Dental Disease: To combat the spread of dental diseases in our community by offering regular checkups, treatments, and preventive measures.

c) Afford ability and Accessibility: To ensure that dental services are accessible to all, the clinic will operate at highly concessional rates and be strategically located in or near slum areas and underprivileged neighborhoods.

d) Long-term Commitment: To establish a long-term dental care facility that will serve the community for years to come, helping to alleviate dental health issues.

3. Location - The proposed Lions Dental Clinic requires a space of 200 to 300 sq ft. The ideal location for the clinic would be in a slum area or near an underprivileged community to ensure convenient access for those in need. By situating the clinic in such areas, we can effectively approach and provide assistance to those who require dental care the most.

4. Partnerships - The Lions Dental Clinic will operate on a club and district partnership model. Interested Lions clubs with a minimum of

5-year commitment to the project can send an intention letter expressing their willingness to participate in establishing and running the LDC. The clinic's management and overall supervision will be undertaken by the district to ensure smooth functioning and adherence to the project's objectives.

5. Funding and Resources - To ensure the sustainability of the Lions Dental Clinic, a combination of funding sources will be explored:

a) Sponsorship and Donations: Seeking support from local businesses, philanthropists, and community members who believe in the cause and want to contribute to the betterment of dental healthcare in the community.

b) District Lions Clubs: Active involvement and contributions from District Lions Clubs, enabling efficient management and continuous support for the clinic's operations.

c) Lions 3234 D2 Charitable Trust: The trust will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial management of the LDC and coordinating fundraising efforts.

6. Clinic Operations - The Lions Dental Clinic will be staffed by qualified dental professionals, including dentists, dental hygienists, and support staff. The clinic will offer a range of dental services, including but not limited to: Dental Check-ups Basic Dental Treatments (fillings, extractions, etc.) , Dental Cleanings and Scaling Oral Health Education and Awareness Programs, Preventive Measures (fluoride treatments, sealants, etc.)
